Poisoned Apples: Poems for You, My Pretty by Christine Heppermann
(811 Hep on the shelf in the library)

This collection packs a serious punch. All 50 poems reference the fairy tales that girls grow up with, but their focus is on the girls, not the fairy tales. Juxtaposing old tropes with the modern world, this book is an in-your-face statement on the world society tells girls they live in and the world as it actually is for teenage girls.

Little Brother by Cory Doctorow
